Finance managers are responsible for the financial health of organizations. Job duties might include data analysis, creating financial reports and managing the organization’s investments. As this is a managerial position, finance managers advise senior managers and help set long-term financial goals for the company.

The average salary for controllers is $238,700, according to Salary.com, not including additional pay. Controllers’ median total pay for bonuses and benefits is $374,848.
Investment Banking Analyst
Median base salary: $97,000
Investment banking analysts conduct market research while reviewing financial data and market trends. They support associates and investment bankers in deals that include mergers and acquisitions, equity and debt offerings, and leveraged buyouts. They also supervise IPOs and private equity settlements. Another key responsibility for investment banking analysts is reviewing deals to determine potential profitability.

That could include a variety of tasks, such as budgeting, cash flow management, investment strategy and profit maximization. Like the director position, this job also focuses on the company’s long-term growth. It may require analyzing data and making recommendations to help achieve the company’s long-term financial goals. The VP of finance also will help ensure compliance with various tax laws and regulations for the industry.
